SpeedGrip™ FAQ

Q:

How do SpeedGrip™ Insoles work?

A:

Every time you step, your feet slide inside your socks, which slides inside your boot. These micro-movements waste energy. Hence, making you less efficient, less reactive and decreasing your foot control. Storelli’s patent-pending SpeedGrip™ technology greatly increases the “grip” (i.e., coefficient of friction) of your insoles against your socks. Greater grip means greater foot traction, which translates in more speed, power and control.

Q:

What size should I buy? How do I fit the insoles to my exact foot size?

A:

The insoles come in 3 sizes (Small, Medium, Large). To pick your size, refer to the size chart below and choose based on your shoe size (see size chart below) -- for example, a US men’s size 9 or 10 would fall in a size Medium.

Note: it is important to check if the shoes you plan on upgrading have removable insoles. SpeedGrip™Insoles are meant to replace your current insoles, so you should not purchase SpeedGrip™Insoles unless you can remove your current insoles or you are comfortable placing SpeedGrip™Insoles on top of your current insoles (this will add 3mm to the thickness of your shoe insoles, which will work only if your shoes are sufficiently large).

To fit your brand new SpeedGrip™ Insoles:

1. Since each size covers a range of foot sizes, once received you may need to cut the SpeedGrip™ Insoles to your precise foot size. To do so, start by taking the shoes that you plan on upgrading, remove the insoles inside of them and set them aside. Also, set aside a pair of scissors.

2. Take the right-side insole from your shoes and place it against the new right-side SpeedGrip™ Insole. Cut the excess material from your SpeedGrip™ Insole so it matches perfectly with the insoles you want to replace. Repeat this process with the left-side insoles.

3. Now that you have two SpeedGrip™ Insoles perfectly sized to fit in your shoes, remove the white film on the back of the heel and bottom to expose the pressure-sensitive glue that will help keep your insoles in place.

4. Now place them inside the shoes you need to upgrade. Try to position them correctly the first time, because even though the glue is not permanent, it will work better if the insole is not placed and removed several times.

Q:

What sports are SpeedGrip™ Insoles recommended for?

A:

The SpeedGrip™ technology was designed to optimize foot traction and make high-power movements (e.g., sudden change in direction when sprinting) more efficient and powerful. This makes SpeedGrip™ Insoles best suited for sports where either a) agility and sprinting, and/or b) foot control are particularly important. These sports include soccer, football, tennis, basketball, lacrosse, hockey, cross-fit, weight-lifting, skateboarding, track & field, cycling, hiking, to name a few.

Q:

What types of shoes are SpeedGrip™ Insoles recommended for?

A:

The SpeedGrip™Insoles are designed to fit low-profile athletic boots, which is why they are both narrow and thin (only 3mm in padding). While they do fit in most athletic shoes, they are not meant to be used in extra wide boots or shoes.

Q:

What can I do if I really don’t like the “Heel Tab”?

A:

The special structure at the back of the SpeedGrip™Insoles (the “Heel Tab”) is a patent-pending feature designed to reduce heel lift, increasing foot traction, support and comfort. However, we realize that this structure may feel too “different” for some. If you find yourself loving the SpeedGrip™Insoles but not the Heel Tab, we have designed the Heel Tab to be removed. Simply take a pair of scissors and cut the two portions of the Heel Tab that surface above the base of the Insoles, on each side.

Q:

Can the SpeedGrip™ Insoles be moved to a different pair of shoes after fitting?

A:

Yes, the same pair of SpeedGrip™Insoles can be moved from one pair of shoes to another. However, the pressure-sensitive glue that helps keep the Insoles in place will lose effectiveness every time the Insoles are removed and replaced, so we suggest sticking to a single pair of SpeedGrip™Insoles for a specific pair of shoes.

Q:

Do SpeedGrip™ Insoles replace the insoles in my shoes?

A:

Generally, yes: most athletes remove their current insoles and upgrade their shoes by replacing them with SpeedGrip™Insoles. However, because the SpeedGrip™Insoles are only 3mm in thickness, some athletes are comfortable placing them on top of their existing insoles (e.g., in larger shoe types like basketball shoes or hiking boots).

Q:

What should I do if my sports shoes have fixed insoles?

A:

It is important to check if the shoes you plan on upgrading have removable insoles.

Q:
